Why Flowers??

Having a farm was a dream, well the dream was to have goats, and goats we have. Being a florist was the dream. My childhood dream to be exact. Fast forward 20+ years and we decided to get a “few” chickens. Well, chickens are the gateway drug to a full fledged farm, and it’s true. Now, those chickens have turned into 50+ chickens, a handful of ducks, rabbits, a cow, and a herd of goats. Our farm is teaming with life. What about the flowers??

I have never felt so fulfilled as I do caring for my farm. I’m tired, dirty and usually very sweaty, but so so happy. I was growing a small veggie patch successfully and then I stumbled across the “farmer/florist” concept. That’s when I knew what I had to do. What could be better than combining my childhood dream of being a florist with my love of the farm. That was it. I told my husband that night. This was what we were going to do. His response was, then lets do it. Side note- Best guy ever. Since that day, I have not stopped pursuing the dream. That summer was the first test patch of flowers, because if I cannot grow them, well the dream stops there. And….the flowers GREW!! The beauty was beyond my imagination. To top it all off, I was able to cut those blooms and share with everyone!

It is in my opinion that flowers are a reminder from God that there is beauty in everything. That is why we send flowers for all occasions. We send them to make the good times better and more beautiful. We send them to funerals as a reminder of the beauty in the darkest times. Flowers are a universal language. They make every space more inviting and alive. They are the gift that everyone is happy to receive. They are Gods reminder to look for the beauty.

It is the goal of this farm, to deliver Gods wonder and creativity to everyone we can. Through flowers, eggs, animals, and family. Welcome to Blessed Nest Farm!
